Netizens around the world praised American born singer and rapper, Doja Cat aka Zandile Dlamini, after she stunned in a South African flag theme coloured dress performing at the “Global Citizens Festival” stage in New York City’s Central Park.
Doja’s expression of solidarity with South Africa comes in the month of September as the Rainbow Nation with its cultural diversity and history of strong activism celebrates Heritage Month.
South Africa also hosted the “Global Citizen Festival” in December 2018, which saw the likes of Beyoncé, JAY-Z, Sho Madjozi, Cassper Nyovest and Ed Sheeran perform at the FNB Stadium.
This year’s free to attend event, coincided with the conclusion of the UN General Assembly and Climate Week NYC and was hosted by Global Citizen Ambassador Hugh Jackman with featured Post Malone, Jelly Roll and Rauw Alejandro.
