Hout Bay Tai Chi students claim gold at national qualifying championships

Members of Hout Bay's Xia Ke Xiong Tai Chi community impressed at the provincial qualifying Wushu tournament, held in Roodepoort, Gauteng recently. They were the only school representing Cape Town for the provincial qualifying event, winning a total of 25 medals, 24 gold and one silver. Outdoor classes are held on the beach or at private homes and indoor classes at Alexander Sinton High School, in Athlone, on Saturdays from 8am till 9am. Presented by Xiong Changsen, who has been teaching Tai Chi for more than 20 years, his classes concentrate on breathwork, balance, focus and co-ordination. For more information, call 074 583 3888.
