Mitchell’s Plain Cricket Club’s under-11 and under-13 sides hosted visitors Tygerberg and United cricket clubs, in their season’s opening matches, at the Stephen Reagan Oval, in Westridge, at the weekend.
The under-13s were on fire, dismissing United for 54/10 and recording 56/2 during their turn at the crease, to win by 8 wickets.
Muzam-miel Salie (27) and Connor Williams (12) top-scored for the home side.
Junaide Manuel, Raees Hendricks and Mitchell Fredericks spearheaded the Eagles bowling attack with wickets falling fast and furious.
Tygerberg held the upper hand in the under-11 fixture, finishing on 218/6. In reply, the junior Eagles were dismissed on 45/9.
