Cwenga Tasana, 21, from Khayelitsha, finished runner-up behind Gqeberha’s Mason ‘Beasty’ Booysen following a hard-fought battle in this year’s Red Bull Dance Your Style national final, held at the Boardwalk Mall in Gqeberha, at the weekend.

Cwenga booked her spot in the finals after wining the Cape Town leg of the competition, at the Waterfront, earlier this year. “I feel happy, I feel excited, and I’m blessed and grateful for the opportunity," said Cwenga, heading into the dance-off.

However, in a competition where the crowd picks the winner, homeboy Beasty emerged victorious and will now represent South Africa at the Dance Your Style World Final in Mumbai, India, this November.
