The Hout Bay Sentinel precinct is officially up and running as a new stop on the Mini-Peninsula Blue Tour Route.

On Friday, September 12, the new route was officially unveiled and launched at the Hout Bay Harbour, with the first bus open to the public on Saturday, September 13.

Sightseeing South Africa said in a statement: "The Blue Route allows you to explore this charming location at your own pace, ensuring you make the most of your visit. Whether you're a local looking to rediscover your city or a tourist eager to explore, Hout Bay promises something special for everyone."

Sheryl Jaftha from Llandudno said the new route was "exciting" and well overdue.

She wrote on social media: "This new route is going to open up many economic opportunities for people. It's really not just about enjoying the beauty of this route, but it's about bringing alive opportunities."

Public Works and Infrastructure minister, Dean Macpherson, was present to open proceedings, joining the Hout Bay community to officially open the new City Sightseeing South Africa stop at Hout Bay Harbour.

Mr. Macpherson said the new stop was established when tenants in the Hout Bay area and its surroundings worked together to create the space for the bus stop.

"This will boost tourism, attract more visitors to local businesses, and create jobs - exactly what we are working to achieve. It is part of my vision to use public assets like Hout Bay Harbour for the public good, turning them into engines of economic activity," he said.

Sightseeing South Africa said the Blue Route will feature two convenient stops in the area, inviting more passengers to experience the beauty and rich culture that Hout Bay has to offer. Its picturesque harbour, bustling markets, and stunning beaches make it a hive of sightseeing activity.

It stated that the Blue Route allows you to explore this charming location at your own pace, ensuring you make the most of your visit.

They also added that the final twist of this new Stop 25 sees you raising a glass at the Hout Bay Harbour Distillery, where authentic craft spirits meet the Hout Bay charm.
