The Amoyo Foundation in Hout Bay aims to raise R670 000 this Mandela Day – and they need your help to reach their goal.
The funds will allow the foundation to continue and complete its 2025 Ubuntu Expressions project, which has already impacted the lives of 130 children across Hout Bay.
CEO and Co-Founder of the foundation, Kim Conley, said Amoyo has been supporting children through "the transformative power of daily performing arts classes, personal development, education, and social support".
"We serve vulnerable children from Imizamo Yethu, offering them a safe space after school where they not only have a far happier childhood, but also build confidence, discipline, life skills, and self-worth - tools that help break the cycle of poverty and open doors to a brighter future," Ms Conley said.
This Mandela Day, the foundation plans to honour Nelson Mandela’s legacy by giving 67 minutes of their time to uplift others in the community.
"We’ve set ourselves a big goal, but we believe it’s absolutely doable — with your support," Ms Conley said.
The foundation is calling on the public to help donate just R67, offering 67 minutes of your time, or sharing this cause with 67 people.
"Every act of kindness helps keep our life-changing programmes alive for the children of Imizamo Yethu," Ms Conley said.
