Inkwenkwezi Secondary School pupils in Dunoon celebrated language heritage last week as part of International Mother Language Day. The Unesco initiative, marked annually on February 21, promotes multilingualism and the importance of using and conserving languages spoken around the world. As part of the campaign, Heritage We Stand, a non-profit company, held a mother language programme at the school to stress the importance of speaking, learning in and promoting African languages.
