The Claremont Community Police Forum says it wants to strengthen communication channels between the public and the police.
The CPF’s executive committee, which met for the first time this year at a Newlands hotel on Tuesday February 11, was elected in December year when Michael du Toit took over from Abdul Kerbelker as chairperson
The CPF’s project co-ordinator, Claire Terink, said strengthening the bridges between the community and the police was a priority.
“We are committed to creating resilient relationships that allow for open, transparent communication and mutual trust as we continue efforts for our shared vision of community safety.”
Claremont police chief Colonel Maree Louw described the CPF executive committee as “positive people who want to make a difference in the community by not only being in partnership with us to fight crime but also to oversee that we are delivering a good service to the community”.
