A 33-year-old man was arrested for the possession of presumed stolen property after stolen vehicles and vehicle parts were found in Kraaifontein, police say.
Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi said officers were informed, on Monday, about a possible storage facility for stolen and hijacked vehicles in Kraaifontein’s Covid shanty town.
Two vehicles and vehicle parts had subsequently been seized, he said.
“They confiscated a Toyota Hilux LDV, which was reported stolen in Muizenberg, as well as a Nissan double cab reported stolen in Kleinvlei. The persistence of the police members led them to another shack, used as a storage facility, where they found vehicle parts of a Toyota Yaris and a VW Polo.
“The mentioned vehicles were confiscated including a number of vehicle registration documentation found inside the dwelling. The members subsequently arrested a 33-year-old man for the possession of presumed stolen property,” he said.
