Reddam House Durbanville is celebrating top achievers who sat for the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) National Senior Certificate (NSC) exams in 2024.
Luke Abrahamse earned seven distinctions, including over 90% in life orientation, maths, life sciences, and information technology, with an aggregate of 91%.
“Work consistently and effectively. Do not wait until the last minute to cram. Also, avoid distractions like endlessly scrolling through Instagram reels,” said Luke.
Caitlyn Lourens scored six distinctions, including over 90% in life orientation, maths literacy, Afrikaans first additional language, and business studies, with an aggregate of 88.8%.
“I created a study schedule, breaking down each subject into smaller topics and setting daily goals. I summarised my textbooks and made extensive notes on each of my subjects throughout the year. At the end of the year I compiled all of the notes into a document and that is what I used to prepare for the exams,” she said.
Reddam House Durbanville said Caitlyn was listed on the IEB’s Commendable Achievement List for achieving a national ranking within the top 5% in five subjects.
The IEC NSC results were released on Monday January 13.
Barry Nieuwoudt, executive head of Reddam House Durbanville said: “These outstanding results reflect the dedication of our students and teachers. The achievements of Luke and Caitlyn are indicative of the excellence we strive for at Reddam House Durbanville.”
Meanwhile, the school announced that its class of 2024 for the Cambridge International AS and A Level had collectively achieved over 90 distinctions, with 88 distinctions at AS Level and a 76% aggregate average at A Level.
Cambridge International results were released globally on Thursday January 9.
The Cambridge International A Levels and AS Levels form part of Reddam House Durbanville’s dual curriculum.
