Fund-raising concert to stop human trafficking

The fund-raiser was well-attended with a full-house waiting in anticipation for the STING tribute band to take to the stage.

The Cape Winelands community came together in a show of support, in Somerset West on Friday November 1, where a line-up of talented musicians took the stage for a fundraising concert to support the non-profit company, Stop Trafficking of People.

The money raised will go directly towards supporting preventative awareness, education, advocacy and victim support in schools, colleges, universities, communities, churches, and corporates but also gave organisers the opportunity to bring awareness to the crime of human trafficking.

A signed shirt by the Police band in London , was sponsored to be auctioned and the highest bidder was Mike Patterson.

The STING Tribute band performs at the concert. Band members are Pierre Tredoux, on drums; lead vocalist Stephan Cloete; Ian Smith on guitar; Brian Lawrence on bass; Pierre Theron on keyboard and Anine Theron on backing vocals.
