Deep Blue Security will have a memorial ride tomorrow, Wednesday November 6, for its area manager, Gerhard van den Bergh, who died in a motorcycle accident last month. The starting point is at the parking area on the corner of Second Avenue and Recreation Road at 6pm. Attendees are asked to share rides where possible to reduce traffic and to abide by traffic laws. Fish Hoek SAPS will lead the ride and participants have been asked to switch their headlights and hazard lights on. The route will be shared during a briefing at 5.45 pm at the parking lot. Mr Van den Bergh died on Saturday October 26 after his motorbike reportedly lost traction after a truck had spilled corn on the road on the N7 near Melkbosstrand (“Security manager dies in motorcycle accident,” Echo, October 29). For more information about the memorial ride, call Fish Hoek Community Police Forum chairman Andre Blom at 082 622 8180.
