Colourful fun at Sentinel Primary

Pupils, teachers and parents found themselves covered in bright splashes of colour during Sentinel Primary School’s colour run fund-raiser last weekend.

The event was held on Saturday, from 8am to 10am, according to school secretary Carol Fisher.

“First we started at our school and moved around the sports field and eventually down towards Hout Bay Harbour. The run was about 3.2 km long,” she said.

“Some of our parents were marshals and some Grade 7 pupils and staff members threw the participants with colour when they reached the halfway point. Once the participants were back at school, each of them received two small packets of colour to throw at each other.”

The school hopes to run the event annually as a fund-raiser.

“We are in need of funds and tried to do a fund-raiser that was not held in Hout Bay before. We plan to host the next colour run in November next year and hopefully it will be an even bigger event,” Ms Fisher said.
