The Alma Cafe
Situated in the southern suburbs of Cape Town Alma Cafe is a homely intimate spot, with good food, great company and most importantly exceptional live music. They operate Monday to Friday - walk-ins are acceptable except for Sundays. The Cafe is popular for launching albums and a good old musical vibe with local bands.
The Athletic Club & Social
You cannot be a Jazz fan and not have set foot at The Athletic Club & Social (We can forgive you if you’re not from Cape Town). The Athletic Club & Social has become a home to many artists from as far as Durban. This classic three storey venue dates back in the 1900 and brings the perfect vintage ambiance. The smooth sounds of Jazz can be heard from the ground floor vibrating the whole building with soothing chords and keys

The Blue Room
Deeply rooted in Jazz and Blues, The Blue Room has been graced by some of the most talented artist from the continent. The music and cocktail lounge operates on Monday to Saturday from 4pm until late. The weekly line up is available on on their website. The venue is appealing to anyone who lives for live music.
Jazz in the Native Yards
Situated in one of the oldest Townships in South Africa and home to many South African jazz legends. Jazz in the Native Yards hosts regular concerts where musicians from all walks of life take centre stage in Gugulethu to showcase their skills and talents. Founder Luvuyo Kakaza and Koko Nkalashe started Jazz in the Native Yards as they felt like everything was happening uptown and musicians from the township did not have an opportunity to perform in those venues. The idea was to bring music back to the township.
