South Africans are melting over Woolworths 'Natural Spring Water Ice'

Woolworths has done it again — taken an everyday grocery item and created a must-have boujee product!

Following their “private school” spring water that launched last year, the retailer recently launched their "Natural Spring Water Ice," and South Africans are definitely on board.

In true South African style, anything perceived as a luxury item is a must-have. Why would we arrive at a braai with ice from any other retailer when we can impress our friends with a bag of  Woolies “exclusive spring water  ice cubes to add to our favourite drinks?

Competitively priced at R29.99 for a 3kg bag, it’s a no-brainer, and I have the feeling that they may not be able to keep up with the demand this summer..

Woolworths said the 3kg bag of ice cubes is sourced from underground spring water in the Drakensberg mountains to enhance its quality.

They go on to say, “Did you know…What influences the taste of springwater? Both the source of the spring as well as the delicate balance of Ph and mineral content contribute to the taste of our spring water”.

Social media users are ensuring that the pressure stays on us to rush down to purchase our bag of “exclusive” ice.

One user commented, "This is the most Woolies thing that Woolies has ever done in the whole entire Woolieverse," referring to a photo featuring packets of Woolworths ice cubes.
