Sunday’s Peninsula Marathon, from Green Point to Simon’s Town, attracted runners from across the city and beyond.

Athletics South Africa (ASA), in association with Western Province Athletics (WPA), announced earlier that this year’s edition will also serve as the 2025 ASA Marathon Championships and the SA Masters Marathon.

The 42.2km run, which also serves as a qualifier for the Two Oceans Marathon in April, featured more than 100 elite runners all vying for the title of SA champion in their respective divisions.

Central Gauteng’s Bennet Seloyi crossed the finish line first in the men’s race, finishing in 2hr20min12sec. In the women’s race, Landie Greyling won the championship title in 2hr55min01sec for hosts Western Province Athletics.
