Comedic acting workshop at Masque theatre

Staff Reporter|Published 9 months ago

The next session in The Masque's theatre workshop series will be their Theatre Bootcamp Comedic Acting workshop on Saturday July 27.

Dive into the world of comedic acting at The Masque’s next Theatre Bootcamp Onstage Basics workshop on Saturday July 27, from 9am to 2pm.

The Masque’s Comedic Acting workshop forms part of their workshop series, which is designed to equip interested people with different theatre skills needed for creating a production or running a theatre. The programme features monthly sessions each covering different aspects of the theatre.

“Join us for a day of laughter and learning led by our team of experienced actors,” says Christine Kaye, vice-chairperson for The Masque, who is facilitating the workshops.

“Our chairperson Daniel Enticott, who has decades of experience, hosts the day with Kerith Coulson, who recently dazzled audiences with her comic timing and stage presence in Golden Girls. James Skilton, an experienced and award-winning actor, completes the line-up of our wonderful teachers for this session.”

The workshop is perfect for fledgling actors. The session will cover everything from the basics of stagecraft to comedic timing and script preparation. There will be practical exercises, partner script readings, and a cool-down session to unwind.

Participants must be 18 years or older. The fee per workshop for non-members is R30 and free for members. For details and registration, visit www.themasque.co.za or contact learn@themasque.co.za for more information.
