Mass ride for Gerhard

There will be a mass ride in memory of Gerhard “Wurm” van den Bergh, the Fish Hoek area manager for Deep Blue Security, who died in a motorcycle accident last week. The ride is scheduled for Saturday November 9, at the Bikers Church at 15 Kenwil Drive, Okavango, Brackenfell. The meeting point for the mass ride will be at the N1 McDonald’s parking area at 10am. The ride will then proceed to the church for a service from 10.30am. Mr Van den Bergh’s brother, Renier van den Bergh, told the Echo earlier this week that the accident happened at around 7.30pm on the N7 near Melkbosstrand when Gerhard’s motorbike reportedly lost traction after a truck had spilled corn on the road (“Security manager dies in motorcycle accident,” Echo, October 29). Renier said it was an open service and anyone who wished to pay their respects was welcome to attend.
